Recognized as one of the top cross-country ski areas in the Midwest, Minocqua Winter Park provides a full range of services for the cross-country skier. We host over 75 km of Piston Bully groomed terrain with 65 km groomed for both skating and striding and 10 km groomed for striding only. A breadth of expertly designed and maintained trails await beginners and experts alike. Ski-joring is allowed every day except Saturday and only on a designated 6 km loop. (Bring your own dog and equipment.)
Many skiers and snowshoers enjoy the Tea House, a small warming house accessible by a beginner-level ski trail, one of our new "backcountry" ski trails, and a snowshoe trail. The Tea House serves tea and cookies on busy days and weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., supported by donations.
Our snowshoe trails total 15 km, and they wind through marshes, meadows, and forests. Enjoy scenic overlooks, and vistas.
The ice skating pond is open during regular business hours, and it is maintained by grants, donations, and volunteers. New for the 2012-2013 season are two dozen pairs of ice skates available for free rental!
Snow tubing on Squirrel Hill is in its third season. We've added a 12' berm, netting, covered hay bales, and more to ensure skier and tuber safety. The tubing lift and hill are open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m. with special holiday hours. Please contact us if you're interested in hosting a private tubing party on any evening of the week!
Inside our chalet, warm up by wood pellet stove, fill up your tank at Rick's Hardwax Cafe, upgrade your gear in the Ski Shop, use the free WiFi to brag to your friends, polish your skis in the wax room, and talk up your winter outdoor adventures.
The Minocqua Winter Park Ski Shop is open during chalet hours for retail, rentals, and P.S.I.A. certified ski school instruction.
