The resort offers 40 first-class log cabins, out of which five are queen suites, one honeymoon turf chamber and one traditional Lappish farmer log house. The cabins are located sufficiently far apart and each cabin enjoys its own peaceful garden area. They have what they claim as the world’s largest smoke sauna, equipped with its own restaurant, the main building log house restaurant, two exotic Lappish tent restaurants and a charming snow restaurant.
The most popular attraction is the Igloo Village, where you can stay overnight in a traditional snow igloo or a unique futuristic glass igloo, where you can admire the northern lights in a normal room temperature under the glass ceiling. Igloo Village is also home to snow chapel and an ice bar both built every winter. Igloo Village is open every year from December/January and until the end of April.
In the winter time they offer husky safaris, snowmobile safaris, reindeer safaris and ice-fishing trips as well as guided ski treks. The Saariselkä ski trail network of over 180km passes right by the hotel. You can rent cross country skis from the hotel. Saariselkä ski slopes are just 10 km from the hotel and regular bus transportation is arranged between the hotel and the slopes. Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are visible from late August to late April. You may also visit Sampo ice-breaker, the only ice-breaker in the world open to tourists.
On summer they offer boat trips to river Lemmenjoki, fishing at lake Inari, sightseeing trips to Utsjoki and Midnight Sun trips to Kaunispää fell. You can also visit Tankavaara Gold Village and try your luck in gold panning. Hiking is possibile in the national park with some of the trails starting just from the hotel yard. If you want to go further you can rent a bicycle from the hotel. Midnight sun shines for two months and the nights are bright from May to the end of August.
The newest attraction is Santa’s Resort, home to Santa Claus all year around. The resort includes Santa’s House, a tower bridge over the Gold Creek and the Smith Elf forge. In summer you can pan for gold under directions of our Elves. In winter you can drive a reindeer-drawn sledge or sled down the nearby hill.
